Socket size for wheel lug nuts - 2023 Mirage

Can anyone tell me what is the size of a socket required for wheel lug nuts on a 2023 Mirage?

I will be bringing my winter tires and putting them on myself after I pick up the car next week. I was hoping not to have to bring the whole socket set.

    Thanks in advance

Unless things have changed (doubt it), a 13/16" socket fits the lug nuts for the steel rims for my 2017 Mirage.

I use a standard tire wrench - which has the four most common sizes -
    SAE: 11/16", 3/4", 13/16", 7/8";

which would match the metric sizes below -

    Metric: 17mm, 19mm, 21mm, 22mm

I don't have a 21 mm socket, but I have a 13/16" spark plug socket that also fits perfectly.

Plan B would be using the tire wrench that came with your Mirage.

I enjoy the small tire size when changing out tires on my Mirage twice a year. So easy to handle!

    Thanks Mark,

I was worried it might be some quirky tiny size.
I will just bring a handful of sockets near that size (don't want to carry a whole tool set, because I'm bringing my battery impact, and a hydraulic jack to do this NASCAR style)

It's a pretty common 13/16". Mirage lug nuts are larger than the ones on my Forester (3/4"). Mirage only uses 4 lug nuts per tire, and my Forester has 5. Most lug nut sizes are going to be found on a tool like this -

I loathe changing my Saturn tires over, I've no idea of their size, but good god, they are heeavy. Even my alloy wheels are hefty.

Years ago I made a helper for these tasks. It was a 90 degree circle that clamped to the lift pad of my 3 ton floor jack, drop the wheel into the guide, pump up the jack to the proper height. rotate the wheel ( the guide had rollers ) and push the wheel into the lug stems. Easy peasy. I lost it during a move

And don't forget to torque them & recheck them after about 100ish or so KM's. Should be ~80 ft lb...
I didn't know what to do, so I didn't do anything

rule of thumb , the average man, not some gorilla type, can exert about 75-80 ft. lbs. of torque on a 12" lever one handed. I personally never used a torque wrench on tires but always do when being precise matters, cyl. heads, bearings, main caps, axle nuts. I've never had a wheel come loose nor failed to get one off by hand.

these shops that impact gun lug nuts to beyond 150 ft. lbs. should be shot.

My 2022 has 21mm nuts. I'm sure nothing has changed for 2023.

Wally, do you think it's wise to post that you don't use a torque wrench on wheels as a lot of members may not be as able as you to feel the amount of torque they are applying on a wheel wrench??? They may over or under torque the nuts,,, just my thoughts, but I think we should be advising the use of a torque wrench for wheels to all members, ... As before, just thoughts,,, Sorry,,,

I didn't know what to do, so I didn't do anything
