    COVID-19 car insurance rebates

Allstate to spend $30-million providing car insurance rebates

All Allstate, Pembridge and Pafco customers who have an active automobile policy as of April 8 will qualify to receive a one-time payment of approximately 25 per cent of their monthly auto premium. Policyholders will receive the rebate by cheque in May.

From a Canadian source, but I'll be surprised if this isn't done in other countries and by other companies.

I'll be curious to read about traffic collision / injury / death stats when this is all over.

I pay $120 a month, basic liability, some collision protection, roadside assistance, and a rider disclosing my car is involved in ride share. Allstate sent me $5. Figures, they still think Im raking it in lol.

Roadside assistance included eh? I pay extra for that. CAA which is the same company as AAA I think. My old Ford Escort broke down in Michigan about 10 years ago, and we called AAA with my dad's CAA. Trucker was a WW2 vet

Thanks to Covid I'm getting the same or better fuel economy without trying at all. I'm driving faster and getting home earlier too. A tank of gas is lasting an extra week too since I no longer take my kids to see the ex because pandemic. Thanks Covid 19! !!!!!!

I'll have to look into rebates. So far I'm getting $39 for some gst credit. That's fill my gas tank for 2 months!

Price of gas was about the same in Alberta as Ontario was last May when I was out your way. ($1.27 a litre or so)

Today almost one year later, sounds like gas is way cheaper in Alberta compared to Ontario. Around $78c a litre here today, and lows of $66c a litre in Sarnia a few weeks ago.

Unfortunately gas prices vary town to town. It's usually cheaper in and around edmonton and Calgary. Drive towards Jasper and it just keeps getting higher. It's been that for as long as I can remember. It's 59 cents anywhere in Edmonton right now, drive 1 1/2 hr to Edson and it's 72 cents, drive another 1 1/2 hr to Jasper and it's 89cents. It's always been higher the further away from the 2 major city's. It's even over 80 cents in the Fort McMurray right now.
