    I have 16's on mine. Handles great even with cheap tyres.

    How come road clearance is so high . Spacers or changed springs ?

    A 195/45r16 tire has an outside diameter of 22.9". Those who are using 175/65r14 (23") tires are running taller tires that those.

    165/65r14 (22.4") & 175/55r15 (22.6") - you're looking at difference of 0.3-0.5" with 195/45r16. It's just a wider, lower profile tire. The overall size is not that different. We're looking at less than a 2% difference in outside diameter from a 175/55r15 standard factory tire.

    This is absolutely correct. How tall the tire is versus how tall the wheel is matters very little as long as the overall height of the tire/wheel assembly is basically the same.

    What's more important on a car like the Mirage is wheel width. I wouldn't go much above 6-6.5".
