Factoring in the price of a dollar, fuel prices are $0.13 a litre more here. Since I'm on the Mirage forum, I dont need to explain how little difference that makes (my 4x4 forum just doesnt get it bahaha). Plus I can't cross the border with my edibles and assorted pot stash.

It's only a few hours longer to stick to the Canadian side. Motels are way cheaper as well. It will cost more to go stateside, especially since fuel economy goes out the window doing 130km/h on an interstate.
That is true with the current exchange rate. I hadn't thought that through. And with your other "items" that you can't cross the border with I understand (living in a state where it's legal but one of our neighboring states isn't).

Here's hoping for good weather and easy driving. Remember to share your itinerary with someone you know and trust.

We all want to see lots of pictures.

It amazes me how some states completely disregard federal law. There are certain states I have to be super careful when going to, simply because those states don't believe in the USA constitution. I can't imagine not living in a free state.

Let's stick to the Mirage and leave politics out please.

In the map posted on the first page it looks like the Canadian route is one road? Lol that would be crazy if true

    Drive safe!

Yeah, just like in the South Park movie. There's only one road in Canada lol Attachment 13373
It might be slightly quicker to go state side according to google but it's way shorter to stay on our one road. Attachment 13372 Google is usually way off times whenever I've used it.

    Safe trip, nickels!

I've done the cross-Canada drive a couple of times. Should get to see some good northern lights this time of year.

I drove from the twin cities MN to southern california in 28 hours when I was 20 years old. Non stop basically just a few short cat naps in the car. Speeds were north of the limit all through iowa, Nebraska, some of Colorado plenty of Nevada too. I got to vegas in 24hrs.

So the stumpy leg of the journey to stay with the inlaws for a few days is done. We pulled about 160km today. That's all the excitement for the next few days, January 1st we start the actual trek.

Alright. First junior sprint done before heading east. Chilliwack to White Rock to Annacis island to Chilliwack (dropping Jeep off at shipping company)

    213km : driven
    9.4l : fueled.

4.4l/100km returned. Car empty for this loop, meaning no weight.

Looks good for the cross country fuel costs!
