Hoping to hit up Tuktoyaktuk this year but might have to wait til next year. Too much to do and never enough money or time...

What would one do in Tuktoyaktuk? I'd like to go myself. Do they have hookers? Do they have blackjack?

My location must be prime in NE Ohio near lake Erie. Every hotel and place to stay is booked at prime prices. More than 1/2 a million people expected in my state and most of them in the lake region. Oh boy.

We had a total eclipse here in Oregon in 2017. Lots of talk about 100's of thousands of people clogging highways for days, food shortages, fuel shortages etc....

Basically none of that happened. In Central Oregon there were some traffic backups for a few hours but it pretty much was a non event.

The whole experience was way cooler than I thought. I'm glad I did that with the family.

This is what I've been hearing & reading. Without exception, people who've experienced it always say, "if you have the chance, don't miss it."

Another good comment from a veteran "eclipse chaser": by adulthood, you've seen thousands of permutations of the sky, from blue & cloudy, or coloured by sunrises & sunsets. But you've never seen the remarkable way the sky looks during totality."

My little city is in the path of totality today. Unfortunately the clouds are rolling in as I type this!

My sister came for a visit and we're planning to drive to better viewing conditions this afternoon if the roads aren't jammed up.
