    TIRE Shop

PSA - Walmart (and Sam's Club) are not tire shops.

They offer this service, obviously, but as the saying goes "caveat emptor" - is their 'cheaper' price worth the aggravation, headache, incompetence and the uncertain feeling from a job done poorly? (and in the case illustrated here: 3+ hours of captivity?)

These are your wheels/tires - the only point of contact your car has for control. Go give a 'real' tire shop your business, I'll guess you'll likely find it worth it.

    What offset are you running?
    Will weld for beer.

Incompetent people don't all congregate together.

I've had real tire shops run my car into a light pole pulling it out of the work area and inflating a newly installed set of tires to 60 psi. Got both resolved, but these were both supposed experts.

Best advise I can offer is to deal with the owner of the shop. If the kid doing the work looks anything like the owner it's probably his dim witted son, who only works there because he has to. Run to the closest Walmart or Sam's Club to give your car a fighting chance for survival.

Agreed. I thought they meant real tire shops. I would never go cheap or go to a cheap place on one of the most important things on a car.

    Offset

That sounds right, I haven't bothered to look to confirm (to be honest).

Also - am I missing something about all the concern for offset??
Sure it's a critical dimension, if its "wrong" your bearings could wear prematurely, as your tires could too, you might have caliper clearance issues, and maybe a few other less important concerns I am not aware of, but - go to theTIRE RACK and get the wheel fitments for our cars, you'll see there are several offsets available. I checked that the wheels I ordered (before ordering) were within the range TireRack offered and I haven't given it a thought since...

So - what am I missing??
To me it seems to be a silly fixation, 38 or 40 millimeters - if a huge corporation (TireRack) is ready to risk their reputation without a concern for the minor difference, why should I care?

Those even look like the same wheels as the ones on the first car in this thread.

Without the body kit on it, it looks way too high off the ground. The body kit should have been standard on the 2017 GT as well.

Agreed. It looks a bit like it's standing on tippy toes.
