Mitsubishi Mirage NOT the first taiwanese made passenger car in the US...

I read something the other day that said the Mirage was the first passenger car to be made in Taiwan and sold in the US.

This just isn't true. The old Isuzu Troopers from 1981-1991 were the first. Not all of them were made in Taiwan, but some were - enough to make it even more difficult when trying to get parts for one.

Maybe they don't consider a 4 door ItScrewsYou Trooper to be a passenger car.

EDIT: Seems I'm getting Taiwan confused with Thailand. I'll just crawl under my mirage and not come out. Don't mind me.

Happens to the best of us!

The auto landscape sure is changing. I drove a Thai and Mexican built cars for the first time in 2014. If I'm not mistaken, some Honda Fits of the last few years came from China.

Uh oh. Don't let the Honda fan boys hear that.
