Great review. I'm glad mechanically it has held up, and you got a manual! That's my main concern. Sounds like a solid car. Good like to you and your expanding family!
As soon as I mentioned the Mitsubishi to friends amongst my other, albeit more expensive by 3500-5000 dollar cars...
Stories were posted on my facebook account about my friend's 4 cyl Mirage cars having engines catch fire, major engine problems after 100k miles with Galants and Mirages from year's past.
I wonder if the 3 cyl model is just a better product?
I have only seen 1 engine replacement post here. I think the user was around 100k miles and said he drove the car really hard and expected it to wear out.
I love popping the hood and seeing HOW MUCH SPACE I have to work around in the bay. I can almost reach all the important bits, woohoo!
I'm not sure how many we have in the 100k+ club yet. Time will tell I guess!

Fummins maintains a fleet of Mirages used for delivery (if I'm remembering correctly). His post above states one is as 160,000miles, nothing done to the engine but spark plugs. I think there's at least a handful of others at 100k miles or greater.

I saw that one, too. Impressive. Only thing I almost thought someone from the tire and oil companies set this one up (well, I doubt that.. but it still seemed odd to mention the products, to me. Just Brake Shoes and Maintenance. Sounds like it did better than even the Sprint Turbo I had 1993-2010.
