    Hypochondriacked!

I hypochondriacked (yes, that's a word) about a very light knocking/tapping sound from the engine after the first "cold" start (0C - 32F?) of this season. It persisted until the coolant temp was into the upper 100's F.

I haven't been driving the car very much, but I don't believe it made this cold start noise last winter.

Should go check the oil level, but I think I checked it last fuel fill (couple hundred km ago), and it was fine. Will double check right now!

Probably it's nothing. Car is likely just mad at me for not driving it enough. It sorta reminded me of the sound a hydraulic lifter or 3 will sometimes make in the Firefly/Metro if the car sits for many months... takes a while for the oil to fully pressurize the lifter?

    That's just opportunity knocking.

I had a few co-workers tell my car was backed into. I went out to the street to check it out $$$ Sadly it was just a bunch of paint scratches on the front bumper so I told the guy to not worry about it cause it matches the rest of the car and it's been through far worse.

One of the great things about driving a beater! I'd be sad if I had a nice car lol

Mine does it also for a minute after a cold start. It's not a knock or anything like that, it's definitely a lifter type noise. I've always thought it might be very high oil pressure when cold (I'm running 5w30 since new) or it's a combination of the 5w30 and using a Baldwin B1431 with a 14psi bypass as opposed to the Wix 51356XP which has a 8-11psi bypass. I'm currently at 125,000 miles / 201,000 kilometers and it uses no oil between oil changes every 5,000 miles / 8000 kilometers. Since it doesn't get very cold here and it only lasts for about 1 minute I haven't worried about it.

Today I just been cleaning the car.

Question, do you think 46.5 MPG average over the last 4,200 miles is pretty good? It's a hatchback with the CVT.

That's good. Way better than the EPA rating!

You should make a garage entry...

100% correct. I picked up a door ding this week on my new car in an upper level of a parking garage on a windy day. The body shop repair estimate is $1,111.

One more reason to miss Speck.

Ha... That body shop estimate is more than I have in the $&#box Miata. I might even wash it next year!

Had to lower my coilovers as a 1" lift was causing alignment issues. I think hitting bumps made it worse. For some reason the coilovers and stock camber bolts holes are no the same size so adjusting is hard. Anyone know if the BC racing and Silvers have the same hole size?

What do you mean by stock camber bolts? Stock bolts are just bolts. You can buy bolts that allow you to adjust the camber. They look like this
