Mirages/Space Stars spotted in the wild (pics! Not your own car)

My buddy told me that people (OK, guys) who drive old diesel Jettas & Golfs acknowledge each other.

I told him I've waved at tons of Mirages and only got one wave back! Can't say for sure whether the other Mirage owners thought I was a creep though!

I waved at a few Mirages and got no reaction. When I saw other Delica's while driving mine there was lots of waving going on. I had a lady in a similar Delica catch up to me on the highway one time just to match my speed and wave. Then she took off and after the fact I figured she was trying to race but it was hard to tell cause they're so slow.

A Mirage first for me:

First time ever I noticed another Mirage behind me on the (rural) highway while I was driving mine. He was in more of a hurry... Wasn't behind me for long.

Does anyone else notice that most other Mirage owners on the road don't seem to look for or notice you? When I drove a New Beetle, we always looked for each other and waved and the Jeep folks do... I thought for sure by now Mirage owners would, but I get nothing any time I see another

I have noticed a lack of interest from other Mirage owners, too. Although I don't cross paths with a lot of them where I live.

The motorcycle crowd is the best. Although a Harley guy may feel a little regret when he notices he waved to Kawasaki, Honda, Yamaha, or Suzuki after the fact. Most just wave to anyone on a cycle, however.

I didn't own an Isuzu Trooper for very long, but that crowd waved 30+ years ago.

Yeah, I felt like a retard the few times I waved at someone in a Mirage cause they were probably wondering wtf is wrong with me.
The few times I saw another Delica on the road I felt the other driver was as about excited as I was as we both waved like children.
My dad bought a Jeep a few years ago and was surprised at the amount of random jeep people that wave.

I think 99% of Mirage owners bought it because it was the least expensive thing they could find. 2 seconds after they drove it off the lot, they don't know what kind of car it is, just the payment is low. That's why they don't wave. They don't recognize other Mirages because they don't even know what kind of car they're in.

As for the murdersickles. There's something wrong with me I know. But I don't get it with all the hip waving / signaling. I don't have to wave at other murdersickles to feel like I'm in a club. I feel how I feel, wave or not. I just ride and pay attention to what I'm doing. I don't give a 2nd thought to other motorcycles, they're just traffic to me. Except if they're going my way and we happen to ride right up near each other. Then I might socialize a bit. Maybe it was the murdersickle racing I did. Now that was a club! But on the street, just traffic.
