I heard the 500 had early reliability problems. Did that ever get solved?

Sales of the Fiat 500 in the 3 months since they announced the engine upgrade:
- March: 439 (down from 1671 in March 2017)
- April: 335 (down from 1201 in April 2017)
- May: 264 (down from 1240 in May 2017)
Maybe the engine wasn't available right after the announcement, but those are Smart Fortwo numbers.

No immediate withdrawal from the U.S., but the news is not promising:
Source: https://carbuzz.com/news/chrysler-wi...ead-in-americaFiat will soon begin the transition of becoming a Europe-only EV brand.
Source: http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/201...-just-wounded/the company needs to identify places “where Fiat can play best.” Those places include Latin America, where the brand has a long history. As for North America, Marchionne said he doesn’t think the brand can “make it.”

Hm. I wonder what this means for Ram Trucks and the Jeep brand...

Apparently even MORE resources will be available to devote to the trucks/Jeeps/SUV's.
That's the goose laying the golden egg for Fiat/Chrysler (and everybody else) these days.
