I'm pushing 500cc bike mpg in my Mirage. At $325 for 10k miles fuel cost (last fill cost) a bike makes no sense considering the additional cost of insurance and especially tires, tags, taxes.
regards

Yeap if you turn on the eco mode and put the gear in D then it won't respond immediately even if you put the pedal to the metal.
If you wait a while still pushing the gas pedal, it will gradually went up to 6000 rpm. But man my Mirage didn't even respond when I press the pedal to the metal from 100 km/hour to 120 km/hour
On the bombshell, the slowest car I ever owned was my Mirage. The slowest car I ever driven was 1980-ish Chevrolet Luv diesel

Since this thread started, I've driven a car that's slower than my '98 Pontiac Firefly:
2005 Smart Fortwo -- this is the 40 hp, 0.8L diesel model that Canada got, but the States did not (unless you got a grey market one). They switched to a gas engine when it was intro'd in the U.S.
0-100 km/h (62 mph) in about 20 seconds
But I did manage to get 67 mpg US / 3.5 L/100 km in 100% sub/urban driving, from a warm engine start on a nice warm day. (Uncalibrated ScanGauge.)
First test drive: Smart Fortwo diesel cabriolet - saw 67 mpg US (100% city)

Slowest vehicle I've owned was probably a toss up between an old 84 F150 with the 300 6 or my old beloved 82 toyota hilux 4wd carbed 22R on 31" mud terrain tires.
My Slowest mode of transportation is something I currently own. A 2013 Yamaha Zuma 50. Four stroke.
Rated at 132mpg. Best I've done is 118 but you can't really hyper mile this thing. It needs full throttle to accelerate in most circumstances. But it's fun.
I've had a lot of slow vehicles from a carbed k-car to a Hyundai excel with a slipping clutch. But the slowest I've owned has been an 83' Suzuki SJ410. 970cc's of not much power. I had it up to 80kph and didn't want to go much faster than that with questionable steering and brakes.
The slowest I've ever driven was the tow truck at my last job. 97 GMC C6500 Deck truck with a 427 on propane. Top speed down hill with a tail wind was 120kph. It ran out of power at 3000rpm.

It's hard to remember as I had a lot of cars when I was young, but my slowest may have been a 75 Olds Cutlass Supreme with the 260 V8. Top speed was about 85. Couldn't really burn rubber either lol...

Slowest car I ever drove, by far, was a 1967 Saab 96 2 cycle 3 cylinder, probably in need of a ring job due to improperly mixing gas and oil. Some hills would slow it to 20mph and it blew smoke rings out the tail pipe. A Prius it was most certainly not.
While not fast, with forethought and being mindful of the power band, the Mirage is safe for most situations. And where it isn't, just be patient and you'll get there eventually. By late 70's to mid 80's standards, the Mirage is on the quick side.
Samurai? Those things are collectibles now.Suzuki SJ410
I didn't realize the engine was so small.
