Since the Car & Driver report about the 2017 Mirage was posted, I noticed a bunch of other blogs have re-posted, but several are misinterpreting things by saying the Mirage won't be available AT ALL until the 2017 model arrives.

The car will continue to be sold as a 2015 model until the 2017 arrives next year (2016) along with the sedan.

PS: Honda did the same thing with the Fit.

Missing model years isn't as uncommon as it used to be; there was no 2014 Honda Fit, for example, and the entirely redesigned 2015 Fit was launched in the spring of 2014.

I think the guys at this Mitsu dealership are right. Were there going to be a '16 model, we would be getting details on it by now...even if it were a carry-over.

    It's July already!

Hyundai also did it with the Tiburon, kind of. The 2001 Tiburon was available for sale until early/mid 2002. Then in late 2002, the 2003 Tiburon was released.

You know the reviews are awful for these cars but yet i've never heard anyone owner do anything but praise their cars. I think reviews just universally dont get it. Cheap car, best features for price and best gas mileage.

They Get Paid To Slam a car in the Ground!!! And they conpair the mirage with a BMW or a Caddillac!!! Now does that Make ANY Sence?!!!!! When your Bent on putting a Car down you can't understand what the Mirage was built for! Great Price Great MPGS Great Warraunty !!!! This is what people Need !!!! And they don't read the Reports of Great Great Gas mileage. My last report I got 50.2 mpg!!!! That beats all Pro Honda Toyota Kia, huyandai cars!!!!

On the note of the new model.

If mitsubishi really wants me to give up my lovely 2014 they really need to bring a 1 litre turbo engine out that get approx the same gas mileage while pushing the power up to at least 90hp for me. In fact i'd be even happier with a sub 1 litre engine. The lower the displacement the better.

Also I hate the front seats. Really needs something with some bolstering.

All the mess about the handling charteristics is silly. Its a econo car thats around $11k afterrebates and incentives.

Look what I found on Paultan.org. A new Attrage rendering. Maybe our 2017 Mirage will look similar. I actually like it. Looks a lot more premium. Can't wait to see what the new interior looks like.
