Hi Gang,
2019 Mirage...refilled the AC coolant to spec today and it made only slightly cooler...
Any ideas what I should try next?

Did you put a vacuum on the system before refilling it to remove all air out of the system?
Im too poor for A/C so thats all i have to say.
please consider checking out my Mirage related youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6c...IEViRFw/videos

Ummm...did you leave out any of the back-story?
In other words...did you just replace a major AC component and now you are trying to recharge the system? You didn't replace anything but the AC just doesn't cool well?
Unless your system is leaking or something got replaced, why are you adding refrigerant to a 3 year old Mirage?

If it's a 2019 & there is no accident damage, would this not still be covered under the basic warranty??? Just Thoughts... Did you evacuate it & verify it held a vacuum & tested it with Nitrogen??? If it was low, it has a leak you need to fix it... Did you put the refrigerant in as per weight, or did you just "Top Up" & look at the pressure on the gages??? Do your cooling fans run & there isn't lots of bugs or pedestrians blocking the Condenser ??? Is the belt tight as per Foma's "Ping Test"?? Is the Cabin Filter clean??? Lots of questions I know... but to make AC work, there is a lot of stuff to check... Let us know... Others may have shorter magic answers tho... Top Fuel is right, Why are you adding Refrigerant to a 3 year old car???

My A/C has never cooled much either, its just pathetically weak and has always been so. It was looked at in the Mitsu place when new, and has been rechecked in two specialized A/C places since.
At start of the warm season, I install a bypass-tube before the (partly clogged!) heater core, which I remove again when winter comes. That bypass lowers inside temp by almost 5°C ! And yes, the flap is 100% closed, checked with an endoscope.
If the A/C is turned on, the inside temp becomes lowered by also 5°C.
In other words, without the heater core being bypassed, and with the A/C on, it is about the same temperature as with the heater core bypass only, and without the A/C on.
I just grin and bear it, there is practically nothing I can do.

hi gang, i bought the car from the original owner...so I am the second owner...here is what i have done...
the car AC was not cold AT ALL...so I had it checked...the refigrerant was actually slightly high so the compressor would turn on and off...they drained some of the refrigerant out and tightened the belt slightly. it got just slightly colder and the refigerant gauge is in the green zone (meaning it's within spec).
thoughts?

Isn't the car under warranty?!?
Just a random thought…
I’m wondering if the previous owner had AC problems and tried to “fix” it himself with a can of AC Pro or something. That seems to be what the average car owner does when their AC doesn’t work properly.
It’s already been mentioned but I think you’re going to want someone to completely evacuate your system and recharge it accurately so you know exactly how much is in the system…and then go from there.
We’ve had a few compressor failures, but these AC systems are usually fairly trouble-free. My 2015 still cools just fine.

What they said, I'd take it somewhere and have it evacuated and recharged then go from there. It might not be full of refridgerant or like others said, maybe someone filled it with fix a leak or something or who knows. Probably best to assume it's half full of air and the system could have been opened or drained by previous owner for some reason. Sometimes it's best to start from scratch.

Car AC works best when the refrigerant is in the exact range. Anything more or less affects the performance more than you'd think. I agree with recovery, vacuum and put in what the system calls for. Which, as I recall, in these cars isn't much. Something like 270 grams

I think our HVAC system is made by a French company that's a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. With Mitsu's extensive commerical HVAC experience I'd be shocked if my AC was failing after on 3 years. My old 2014 Mirage blew like a meat freezer, it was so efficient, and that's saying something living in Atlanta aka The Vietnam jungle of the south.
