Beeping With Door Open But Keys Not in Ignition

Hey guys, my car started beeping yesterday like I had the keys in the ignition. My key fob is getting pretty weak so maybe it's a battery? I removed the battery terminal for a few minutes to see if that would fix the problem but no go.

Any ideas and any help is appreciated!

I am a bit confused, but that's nothing new.

Do you have push button start or traditional chipped key with a remote locks for your Mirage?

Dead fob battery won't do that.
I'd guess the little switch on the ignition tumbler is sticking, could try spraying some graphite lube in there and work the key in and out a bunch of times. Or try it minus the lube.
