Hello, I was quoted $230 for full coverage for the mirage. Is that a high price for the value of this car? I know it's the first model year so it would be high. I know it's required since I am planning to lease it eventually.

I don't know what the rates are in the US but that sounds REALLY cheap. Here in Thailand my Attrage/Mirage insurance is $600.
I would love to have a rate that low, I have to pay around USD 1000,- for six months coverage.

Full coverage?! That's even cheaper than my insurance, which came out to about $300 this year.

Yeah, since I live In Los Angeles, CA and I'm only 23, I thought it was high. Now I don't feel so bad!
damn 92 metro spoiled me, paying around $60 a month for basic liability.

Obviously driving history, coverage amounts, deductibles, and location play a huge factor in rates, but here's what a 34 year old guy in Indiana with a spotless driving record pays every six months to State Farm for a Mirage:
Bodily Injury (250k/500k) & Property Damage (100k) == $119.57
Medical Payments (1,000) == $6.14
Comprehensive [1000] == $20.06
Collision [1000] == $80.77
Uninsured Motorist == $7.91
Total is $234.45 every six months. [] is deductible, () are limits.
Yes, I still drive the metro, it's my daily driver, an auto. Since I have a commute of 60miles both ways, I'm losing confidence in the car. I'd rather have payments then do 24/7 repairs. Yeah, where you live and other factors does make a difference. I mean, comparing the A-segment cars, I'm assuming the mirage would be cheapest to insure? The smart fortwo might be lower.
