Rad! Looks great. Yes, my hatch has comfortably taxi'd my two kids around town for all kinds of stuff. Small enough to fit in the tiny economy car only spots at work, roomy enough inside to be useable. Just a dang practical ride (and like you, I dig the car's aesthetics).

Welcome! I have the Konig Heliums and UR rear sway bar as well. Really adds to the rigidity of the chassis and overall feel of the car. We also have an Odyssey, albeit a 2014, as our 2006 got totaled at the end of 2021. This is our third one now.

I think Mitsubishi is in one helluva good spot with the Mirage. It costs them nothing at this point to produce the car. Meaning, all the tooling has been paid back. I guess it's more accurate to say, it costs them minimally to produce it.

It could come to pass, that nearly overnight, Americans are going to be looking for "SIMPLE / CHEAP." If the Mirage is the only one standing, Mitsubishi probably couldn't build enough, and the dealers could raise the price even more. Mitsubishi could follow the cost of a Corolla, and crush. For example, price the Mirage at (just throwing out a number here) 85% of a Corolla. Or whatever the percentage is that makes a customer take a long hard look at the Mirage, and likely sway them to a Mirage over a Corolla, based on price. When the Corolla price goes up, the Mirage can follow it (by 85%).

Let's say this summer, CA starts having brown-outs. And then starts telling EV owners that they cannot charge every night. And assigns 3 or 4 nights only that they are allowed to charge. When EV charging anxiety increases, those owners are going to wanna dump those EVs. But they're not going to want to go back to paying hefty lumps of money on gas. So, they'll be looking for gas sippers. I only speculate. I don't know the whole picture. It just *seems to me that it would be easy for Mitsubishi to hang on to the Mirage, drag out production for maybe 4 more years, and see what pans out with more expensive EVs, etc.

I couldn't agree more. However, a top trim Mirage is actually available for an OTD price of $18k to $19k. Good luck finding a Corolla at MSRP. Toyota dealer fees are insane, driving the price of a base Corolla to almost thirty grand. In reality, the Corolla is going to be more like 30% more than a Mirage.

Good info Dirk. I haven't shopped Corollas in years. I like'em, just haven't been in that market. My 2004 Corolla 5MT was a helluva vehicle.

Read my tagline. The Mirage is the Beetle of this century. It's really the people's car. They don't have an Asian factory cranking out 400,000+ vehicles per year if it wasn't a hit elsewhere. Think of this. In 10 years Mits has made 4M + Mirages. That's huge. That kind of volume is NEVER cancelled by the bean counters. This little car could be around Earth another decade. Will it be in North America? I dunno. My crystal ball is cloudy.
