Question Need clip for tail light

I have a broken tail light clip and would like to replace it (makes the tail light rattle). Broke it while pressure washing the car, seems like it was on its last legs. Is this the same as a bumper clip or do I need to look for a different part? Thanks in advance

EDIT: Thanks to Fummins help I have also identified a diagram for the clips/grommets for tail lights and the aliexpress link with both the parts: numbers 80387 and 80384F respectively

I always thought this was just built into the quarter panel and not a clip or thing that was meant to be removed. Why not just check your other working tail light and use it as an example to find something that works?

How did a "clip" on the backside of a brake light get broken when power washing? Sounds like a story I wanna hear!

AyAyron - From my memory, it seems like there may be a couple nipples on the backside of a brake light (at least in most cases). The nipples push into grommets. But after that, there are screws that attach from the inside that pull the brake light into its final design position.

But I've not had a Mirage brake light off yet, and I'm sure designs vary.

You're talking about the yellowish-white clip that the tail lights slides into? I'll try to take a look and see if if matches up with another clip on the car later today or next week(if I don't forget). They're kind of a pita to remove without breaking them. I don't think any clip on the bumper is going to be the same as that one. A rocker molding or door panel clip might be the same?

Hahaha it seems from the roof paint and roof rubber seals that this car has been left in the sun for a long time (the paint is fading and the seals are turning white). The tail light has been taken off before for some after market LED strip installation it seems so either it became weak or decayed over this time. The pressure washing must have been its tipping point.

For both you and Fummins I have taken a picture of the pieces from the other tail light that is still fine (I seem to be missing both clips on that attach the tail light on the opposite side of the screws). If I can get a part number or a dimensions I can order a substitute from aliexpress.com

The silver rod is the bottom attachment and the white is the side clip.

No need to break something to check! Unfortunately I have not been able to find a diagram for this which would have helped immensely

It looks like that clip might be installed in the wrong spot... I just checked a car. That clip that you have circled(yellowish one) should be on the outboard side of the car and the tail light has a slot that slips into it. That peg on the tail light assembly(in your first picture) fits into a different looking plastic clip that's more white/see-thru. I'll upload some pics right away that hopefully explains it better.

I have a bunch of wrecked Mirage's sitting 50' away.

EDIT: Nmv, that pic of the clip is in the right spot...But that tab on the tail light you posted doesn't snap into that clip. Anyways....

Okay...I got it! The white clip that the taillight peg thing pops into is: MU000368 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003461109927.html

Attachment 25650Attachment 25651 So you need that white clip on the left.Attachment 25652

And...I just found a Mitsubishi parts schematic program that I must have downloaded and forgot I had. I'll try to find a part number. I found the part numbers for every single body plug but am still searching for that clip.
