    Is this my problem?

My check engine light came on and it was idling rough. I looked around and noticed that it looks like some wires leading to some sensor located under the air intake melted. What is this part called? Would it be the issue? Is it hard to replace? Does the whole thing come out or does the gray part disconnect? Thanks for any help.

That looks like your ignition coil pack and it's absolutely your issue lol

Looks like you need the plug not the coil pack itself. Gray part should disconnect. It's worth trying to disassemble and see if you can fix it free before probably heading to the junkyard

Need to rewire that coil and that will fix your issue. Not much wire to crimp with from that pic, but you might be able to pin out the connector.

    Thanks for the answer.

Is there a trick to getting the grey part off? It isn't budging. Does that black part pull out easily? I think I could get it if I had a better angle.

Also, the part I am looking for would be an Ignition Coil Pack connector?

Yes its an ignition coil pack connector you need. yes if you remove the 10 mm? bolt the coil pack it will pull out fairly easily. If you search for how to change spark plugs on youtube you will see how to remove the coil packs.

If you look closely directly on that grey plug, you may see where the plastic needs to be pushed inwards in order to release the securing bit. Then it can be pulled out easily without force.
Make sure to connect the wires in the correct order (!), and to tidy up the wire harness after you are finished, so it doesn't happen again. According to model, the wire colours differ, see schematic. The pin numbers will be molded into the plug. Cylinder one/coil1 is the one towards the passenger side.

foama - you keep triggering my OCD with your "no force" statements. I'm taking deep breaths here.

foama, don't look any further down from here.

But some small force will be needed or no movement will happen.
