    Reverse Light Doesn't Turn On

    Hi,
This thread stems from recent clutch replacement job. Super happy with it. Everything works fine except reverse light doesn't turn on.

I assume some type of switch was left plugged out, any ideas where to locate this switch?

It's a manual. I believe he referring to the reverse lights on the rear of the car that don't light up when in reverse.

On side of the transmission, hard to see, but best seen from underneath near the driver side wheel well, is the backup switch. It sits in depression of the gearbox casing. It most probably was not removed.
The backup switch unit is built with a short cable and connector, colour black . It is located on the front of the gearbox, just under the battery, and is connected to a cable assy. Check that the cable assy is fastened to the gearbox, and that the plug is connected to the socket.

Hey i had this issue before, every time i tried to Reverse my reverse light doesn't lit up.

I had to shift in reverse 3x or 4 or so until i see the light turn on on my side mirror.

But what i did is, i adjusted the cable on the engine bay a little and now every time i do a reverse its working. So I'm not sure if that is related with the light.

    BTW im using MT.

That's the clutch cable, I wouldn't touch that that will send clutch pedal alignment out of spec. In my case, it looks like it's a broken switch wire. Will post pics tomorrow.

Nope! Dont touch the cable adjustment if you want it to last!

The clutch cable is the thing in the top of the lower photo. Directly underneath that rubbery clutch thing is the plug and socket of the reverse light switch. Take a closer look to see.
