Yeah I will pick some of that grease up and a few extra packets of it up.Zero employment here. If you google "No work in Tucson Reddit'' a lot of Reddit threads that are only two to three months old and all the way back to when we arrived here in'12 about no employment here.We only came here because we were homeless and that story is a long one as we were/are like most people who work and all it takes is one little monkey wrench to be thrown in and then the whole toolbox of monkey wrenches are thrown in and before you know it you are where you are.

I have a job offer already in a different city so I am not too worried about finding employment....now if only we can find out what in the actual ***k happened to my moms income check which is her social security. SSA and bank pointing fingers at each other.....sigh......SSA doing an investigation.....waiting for plate to leave in production status as well. After those two issues we can leave.

Dinton - I can't even imagine. I hope you find a job in a state where people are employed and working, taxes are lower, police are employed, crime is lower, etc, etc, etc. I could name states but I'm sure you don't need me to.

Well the mystery is solved and maybe this will help someone as well. My dad passed away on July 9th and long story short he was a horrible person that I cut ties with when I was 29 and found out my stepmom divorced him in '16. So the good news is my mom's retirement increased quite a bit. But someone at SSA also made my mom deceased as well. So I took her to the office and they straightened it all out...after a week of giving her different amounts she would receive. Turns out someone went in and put her back as dead lol so she never got her check on the first. If it wasn't for me pinching pennies we would've been on the streets/car. Sooo,I took her back.....again and again....and once....again. So we will see what happens. I insisted they cut her a check as we do have bills due and spoke with an attorney before we arrived there today.

Needless to say they will put what she is due in the bank in a few days instead of at the end of the next month. If I did any malarkey like this at work I'd be fired in an instant but all should be well and we can continue on with our journey here. We still are moving as I have chased away a few crackheads here and there but they are not too bad it is the young 13 to 20 year olds known as the KIA boys stealing cars here.So we are headed North. My moms insurance is pretty cheap and really can't be beat in any other state and the coverage is great as she needs many meds that would cost thousands every few months where here under 400 total so we are grateful for that.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I can personally relate to this - my Dad is still around but is very lonely because he has alienated most everyone around him. And now he's at a point in his life where he really needs some help, and can't afford to buy it. And refuses medical help. It's really difficult for us as family members, but I know he's the one suffering the most.

Here's hoping for a better future for you and your family. I would suggest looking into relocating to Ohio, the overall cost of living is more affordable than most.

I'm hopeful for you and your Mom. Get somewhere that isn't under martial law (WTF New Mexico? Really?) I can't fathom having to pay monthly for health insurance or drugs. Where I live both are free. I may wait a couple months for a specialist but so far it hasn't been an issue. Where I live is also heading to zombie land. A guy in the grocery store was doing the doubled over zombie mannequin thing. I asked him many times if he needed help, was he Ok? No response so I told the store staff about him. Keep us informed.

PS. I never understood the whole rotten parent thing. If you think you might be a right prick to your kids then why oh why did you have them? They aren't accessories. They are a big part of your life. If you're a drunk or something then get help.

Historically the answer to this is both practical and cultural:

The first: you need kids to work the farm or the business, and even if it's not strictly needed it's more reliable and cheap to have your kid do something.

The second: getting married and having kids is something people have been culturally programmed to do since birth. There's a stigma around being a single kid-less adult in most cultures.

There's also kids from non-consensual encounters, or an accidental pregnancy that prompts a marriage.

And then there's people who just enjoy abusing their power over someone helpless to fight back, like a kid.

It has been a long week so far and spending the whole day at social security and we found out for a fact that it is the bankk that declared my mom dead. The SS office said the check was put into the account a second time here om the 12th but the bank shows them returning it because she is considered dead by the bank. We spent the say at the SS office and they cut her a check for half and the other half will be in the mail and boy SS is pissed at the bank and had us stop by the bank.We go in and I can tell the associate does not want anything to do with this case. She looks my mom up and on her computer it shows my mom alive and she says we are closing and the manager is on an important call and can not be bothered...ok,whatever...she then says I will talk to him and show the paper SS gave you and call you tomorrow...yeah,sure they did not call today and when we called no one ever answers.

So later today a very nice lady from the SS office calls and she helped my mom two weeks ago with this and sees while on her days off my mom was back again. She tells my mom she can not find any fax numbers with the bank.We looked as well and none so she says she will call us if she hears anything cause my mom now needs proof in writing that she is alive from the bank and they seem to not want to do it and when she calls either locally or a national line for BANK OF AMERICA they rush her off the phone and do not want to investigate any further.

We had an issue where she had money taken out of her account when she had Wells Fargo back in the mid 90's and SS is saying this looks awful like someone tried to take her income and pass her off as dead in the system and it did not work the way it should have for whoever is behind this.
So in the mail she gets a letter today from the treasury saying that it IS the bank returning the check. So I put her on my bank account and she will be closing out her B Of A account. She was with them for 25 years before this issue. So we are still waiting to see how this concludes. My license plate came two days ago and is not going on the car until we are driving out the driveway for the last time.

Ugghh....man now banks are starting to go sideways. Is there anything left in our country that is still good cause man it seems like we have reached the bottom of the barrel with the way with how everything is ran.I know I digress but still....

Thanks. We are staying in AZ cause the heath care for her isn't the best but compared to any other state it is the best. So,very thankful for that. We will move somewhere where not much is going on that is a bit out more than most folks would want and I plan on driving a bit more which I am used to driving 100+ miles a day for work and errands combined living in other states.

I still plan on getting a motorcycle to go with the car as I am also a motorcycle person my whole life and can't wait to be back in the saddle.I swear though the last three four -ish years have been a midlife crisis event lol. Now it is time to make it work and not procrastinate so much.
