My first ever new car

That's cool Metro - I'm not rich by any means. But I've managed to save, save and save. Only to make my wife so freakin' mad. If it were up to her, we'd move to a bigger house every 3 years, to keep up with her fancy-schmancy friends. And not have 2 nickels to rub together at the end of the month.

I guess my one vice is vehicles. I like'm! Don't have to be new. I do enjoy that Lexus though. But it is WAAAAAY overkill for me. I didn't realize that so much, until I fell in love with the Mirage. I doubt I've wasted all that much money on vehicles, ESPECIALLY compared to others. I usually own vehicles that hold their value, that I manage to find for cheap. We stumbled across a 2009 Toyota Matrix about 4 or 5 years back that we got for $4,000, that was worth about double that back then. I tend to find deals like that. I did buy the Mirage new though.

Fanciest car I've owned was no Lexus: 2006 Civic, about a decade ago. 2nd fanciest was probably my 2nd Mirage (the loaded one).

I haven't watched a Scotty Kilmer clip in months, but these recent posts made me look it up again.

Scotty's net worth is estimated at $21 million by some sources. In this clip below, he claims to have spent less than $5,500 on his own personal vehicles (50 years of driving).

To be fair, he's not including his wife's cars. He splurged on her. I believe he paid $3,000 for his wife's 2003 Lexus.

If I won the lottery, I would still drive what I already have. I might buy a new 5' x 10' aluminum utility trailer for my 2011 Forester to tug around. I'd rather have a new tractor than a new car!

I've spent less than that (net) on cars in 30 years of driving. But I'm not worth $21 million! What am I doing wrong!?

Sweet Mirage! I also leveled up to a new car recently, a Honda Civic, straight out of the showroom. The upgrade's been awesome. And get this, I had mine brought over from overseas, and A-1 Auto Transport made the whole process super smooth. No dramas, just a shiny new ride at my doorstep. Enjoy the new wheels and tech!
