Hello All
Does anyone know definitively if Mirage Radio/Head Units have radio codes or not -
- can they be swapped in out without worrying about having to get a radio code ?
(as long as they the same part number)
Cheers and Thanks

I have disconnected and reconnected the radio before without issue. The car comes with the radio fuse disconnected from the factory and it is installed during the PDI (pre delivery inspection) by the dealer and I do not think that involves entering any type of radio code.

It's been a while since I messed with it but if I recall correctly even the basic radio had a security code. I think I covered it here somewhere, I just don't have time right now to look for it.

I've never heard of these cars ever having a radio code. The old orange screen basic radio 100% does not. I know that people installed car-play oem head units in 2020 and older Mirages that were plug-and-play. As for 21+ goes,I don't know. We have a couple 2023's but I don't plan to remove them anytime soon.

Yep, I think you are right here. The code I was thinking of was for accessing & updating the Hands Free Module on those old radios.
Here's the thread I'm referring to:
Link System | Fuse | HFM (Hands Free Module) - Software Update

Weird. I once replaced a hands free module on a 2015 and it too was plug and play. It was an oem hands free with steering wheel controls and usb plug in the glove box. I didn’t realize there were updates for that.

I had my radio out of my 2021 when I put in the rockford stuff... no code needed.
Yeah, you sometimes gotta weed out some of the static.
