    Gas Cap Fuel Cap Replacement

When i bought my used 2019 Mirage (Rockford edition), the prior owner had misplaced the gas cap. Getting a new one has been an absolute pain. Pick-your-part junkyards around me have no Mirages, and the full service ones don't sell the gas caps. The replacement i ordered on amazon said it would fit but didn't. It seems that my only option is to make an appointment with the dealership. Does anybody have any suggestions or alternative sources for a fuel cap?

    I looked up fuel cap for a 2019 G4 here https://www.mitsubishipartswarehouse...bC1sMy1nYXM%3D
Found conflicting info. It shows it fits 2017-2023 G4(along with a bunch of other late model Mitsubishi's) but if you look up fuel cap for a 2018 it shows 2014-2018 as being the same. I dunno... I don't have a 2019 to look at. They're under $50 on that website. Sucks but it's better than filling the tank with dirt.

I replaced the gas cap on my OS/RVR/ASX with a Gates 31836 locking gas cap and I tried it on the Mirage also. Fits fine, no check engine lights. The non locking cap is a Gates 31838. Both are pretty cheap on Scamazon.

I was lucky there was one in the junk yard I only had to replace the little plastic strip that holds the gas cap onto the car when filling it. I wanted to lower the odds of losing it.

    "Tether."

Mine, maybe all years back to the first (what ... 2012?) has a little hooksie-pooh on the filler door, that one simply loops the tether over (while fueling), which prevents the cap from laying / rubbing the side of the car, potentially leaving marks in the finish.
