    You could simply take the resonator box off. Costs nothing. That way you can hear the typical 3-cylinder growl, just like the 1980 Daihatsu Charade, or the original 1979 Suzuki Swift.

    I never thought about it. It might give it a bit of growl like you say. I never even considered that it even had a resonator. Hmmmmm.

    I wonder if that resonator has any effect besides sound? I wouldn't want to go from 45 mpg all the way down to 44.999 mpg.

    The resonator modifies the torque curve a bit. Not many folks would really notice any difference except for the sound.
