    Looking for a new vehicle

First of all, relax, I'm not getting rid of the Mirage.
My wife's 2013 Forester is sufficiently beat up, that even my wife finally believes it is not feasible to keep repairing it. (so it's in a pretty bad shape)

I need to narrow the choices down to 2 or 3 vehicles, and she can make the final choice.

    Vehicle needs (non-negotiable) :
    Available in Canada
    New
    Gasoline or diesel powered
Space for at least 4 people, 1 large dog, some luggage

"My vehicle wants" (in quotation marks for a reason)
    Stick shift
    Inexpensive
    Seating for 8
    Good on fuel
    AWD/ 4WD
As few electronic gadgets as possible
But: heated mirrors and cruise control

In the above section, I obviously can't get all of the items all in one, but vehicle with the most of them wins

    Brands considered:
    Honda, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Nissan
(I will consider Stellantis, GM, or Ford only after a serious head injury)

Hoping to have some discussion here, but don't expect me to change my mind on Stellantis

Toyota Sienna? Comes in awd and can seat 8.

I don't know who even makes a stick shift anything(with a back seat) anymore so I'd consider taking that off the wish list?

Being good on fuel is gonna be relative. Nothing is going to be as good as the Mirage unless maybe a hybrid of sorts?

    What about the Outlander?

Any 3 row suv/cuv that I've ever seen has the third row built for midgets or children that you don't like and luggage space is non-existant with the crappy 3rd row in use. Except maybe a suburban?

The seating for 8 makes this a futile exercise, so i will focus on your need for only seating for 4 a dog and luggage, and say Subaru Impreza Wagon.

The base model 2.0 5MT can still be had right around the 20k mark. I have been considering one myself for some strange reason.

I have to double check, but I think mt impreza is no longer available in Canada, but that would check most of the boxes
