Checked laws in New Brunswick and Ontario.
No requirement to even have reverse light so can make it red if you like.

Laws clearly say no blue lights, no red lights up front, and that signals must be red or amber in rear.

As long as the rear light is red or amber not continuously flashing and the brake light is still indicating it will be compliant.

I would not want to project a white light behind while going forward.

Really want more illumination out back because it is extremely dark here and people do not look where they are going.

It's often pretty dark in the dark over here too.

You're probably just experiencing the Rodney Dangerfield effect. They can see you but you're driving a car that gets no respect lol
Everyone will tailgate you in a Mirage and drive like you're in the way 98% of the time. It doesn't help if you believe the speedometer, the Canada spec models usually read about 5kph high so if you're following the speed limit you're actually doing 5-under. Compare with a speedometer app to confirm, I've checked it with a bunch of Mirages of all years and they're all out.

You could always just buy a an led strip light and tie into the license plate light.

Suspect you are right, but I still want to do it haha.

So today I passed by one of those community radar things that displays instantaneous velocity and it showed almost exactly 5km/hr below what the mirage speedo said!!!!

    Wild.

Will figure it out with the wires but I do think someone knows the easy answer here haha.

The easy answer is don't bother. What problem are you trying to solve?

Just joking. It's your car, do what you want.
