    *Update*

After unplugging my battery and touching the positive and negative cables together overnight the SRS light came back on immediately after I started the car back up. The CEL came back on today after 60 miles as well.

After work I took the car to a local mechanic and they cleared both my srs and CEL. The mechanic said I had a ton of codes on there but didnt tell me what the SRS code was showing. It took him about 10 minutes to hook his scanner up to my car and he didn't change me a fee for it. Now we wait to see if the srs light comes back on after driving. The CEL will come back on because of the O2 spacer and the P0137 code

I have 2 thoughts running through my mind regarding your situation.

    1. If you still don't have an ELM 327 adapter to check and clear your own codes, I must issue you 1 demerit. It's not like the <$15 spent on the adapter will only get used on the Mirage. You can use it on most or all vehicles, you have or are going to have. No need to go by a parts store to have the codes read, or play games with your battery cables. 1 DEMERIT! That'll learn ya...

    2. My son's minicat on his RX8 remains to be working. It's been 6 months or more, no more codes. It looks like the bottom mini-cat in a previous reply. The one with 2 pictures, a small hole spacer on the top, or the bigger hole with a grid in the bottom picture. The one that worked for me was the bottom hole minicat.

If you're going to sell the car, it would be ethical to let the buyers know of the 2 issues (O2 whatever and the airbag code). If you're going to trade it in to a dealer, to hell with them, hide it. I saw the inner workings of some (Hyundai) dealerships. They are such horrible crooks, they make Las Vegas casino dealers look like daycare centers. I'm certain all American dealers (all brands) are equally as crooked as that Hyundai dealer.

I don't blame you for not wanting to drop big money on it, if you're just going to sell it.

The SRS light has been off the last few days after the reset....now the e-brake light comes on and off while driving. When does it end?

Your brake fluid level is low. Might be time for brakes also. When the fluid is low it usually means the brake lining is down to minimum front or rear. You might want to pull the wheels and drums and inspect.

Good point Johnny. I'm currently at 176k and have replaced the front brakes twice (including once last July) and haven't touched the rear drum brakes ever. Thanks for the input

Or may have a wheel cylinder leaking. I've seen a few lately. Driver shows up for an oil change then casually mentions that the e-brake light has been on for the last week as they walk out the door. Either or, brake light comes on because of low fluid level or the e-brake handle is pulled up a little.

Good call Johnny, My brake fluid reservoir was empty and I topped it off this past weekend and now all is good regarding my e-brake light staying off.

Also, my CEL is currently off but I'm guessing (P0137) is still stored in the car's computer?

I'm driving 80 miles roundtrip per day (highway) at 80 mph and averaging around 38 mpg. Which is about normal before all this hoopla regarding my misfire back in February

Yeah, 38 mpg at 80 mph is right on the money, if not a skosh on the above average side.

However, you are receiving yet another DEMERIT for STILL not having your own ELM 327. That's a total of 2 demerits you sumbich! Another 998 demerits and metro kicks you outta here.

You don't want that. Those cheap ELM327s cause wonky problems.

I just mean to insert it long enough to read codes. That's what I do. I ran mine for hours on a drive one time. It was roughly 4 hours into a 5 hour drive, when I stopped for fuel before anything acted strange. No problem to insert it, read codes and pull it back out.
