That’s the tin backing plate running on the back of the rotor. Just pry it away slightly where it’s rubbing.

Thanks for the advice. The reason I had the wheel off is a stone got caught between backing plate and disk and it was making a horrendous grinding noise.
I didn't notice backing plate touching the brake rotor (but I only looked from the top). I will take a closer look tommorow.
You can sometimes reach around without taking the wheel off and just feel around the bottom and rear of the rotor and pull it a little where it feels like there’s less of a gap.
It’s relatively common if you grab the backing plate to turn the spindle with the wheel off. If that makes sense?
