Cobrajet raises a good point. And I'm glad to see him "up in here."
I think / I wonder if the clutch cable might be in the process of completely breaking but maybe some "strands" have broken and therefore not able to completely release the clutch ... and make it seem like a throwout bearing.
My CRF 450X did this very thing. A new clutch cable and it was good to go.
