Lifting the rear of the car

I plan to lift the rear of the Mirage so I can change tires.

I'll chock the front wheels well so the car won't move.

Do you think a 3x3 of softwood is strong enough to raise the rear of the car?
Or do I have to figure out how to get my jack and a 4x4 under the rear of the Mirage to lift?

Are you lifting the car with a piece of wood? You can jack it up on the tow hook point under the spare tire well if you have a floor jack to get both wheels off the ground at the same time.

+1 on the tow hook as a lift point. Much easier than a long 2x4 as a lever.

I would like to see using a 2x4 to lever a Mirage up
