I got the rear seat out and removed the access plate to the fuel pump. I found no evidence of rodents or chewed wiring. Tomorrow I take it to work and get it on the lift for more inspection. If I don't find any wiring issues I am going to just make an appointment at the dealer to get it resolved. I will keep you all posted.

All fixed up. Cleared the codes and the light stayed off. I sternly told the wife to try and keep the car cleaner on the inside. Food scraps and crumbs is what caused this issue. I got home and did a vigorous cleaning of the interior and placed multiple cotton balls with peppermint oil hidden in the car.

    Interesting. Thanks for the update.

This reminds me of Mark’s past thread that he found 40+ walnuts beneath the hood or something. Not entirely relevant to this but I guess the Midwest environment can be pretty surprising to go by?

Dogs, cats and practically all sorts of rodents are repelled by Australian tea tree oil. The abhore the smell.

In these parts, when dogs repeatedly lift their legs on building corners, garden gates, etc, putting tea tree oil on that place makes them stay far away for good.

Rodents ... ha! Opened the hood of my car the other day, and this kill-creature tried to murder me! I barely escaped...

Looked like a sliced off head of a snake at first glance. (Note the blue color.)

He must have been enjoying the breeze of air heading into the snorkel.
