    Aisin parts sourcing?

so i've been dealing with an almost impossible to find 2nd gear for a few years now. finally found a MT to swap out & tore my MT down to find the Hub, M/T 1ST & 2ND Synch was broken. brass was fine, but hub was broken. the Mitsubishi part # is 2551a254. no one in the USA seems to be able to get it

(partsvoice was a bust as well, messages a few parts sources that didn't say out of stock, they all responded backordered, no release date.)

been trying to find out a site or contact to try to go straight thru Aisin & see if i can get it from them for the F5MDB.

anyone have any means to reach them? (tried to contact Aisin usa from Aisin.com, but they couldnt provide a parts contact)

or, anyone got a trashed out MT that i may be able to see if the Hub, M/T 1ST & 2ND Synch is not broken to rob parts from?? any other means to get this sync hub?

These two sites list it and don't have it flagged as out of stock so you could try these two links:

    https://www.mitsubishipartsnow.com/o...synch-2551a254

    https://www.factorymitsubishiparts.c...synch-2551a254

Aisin is a Toyota company and Toyota are full of their products. Just an idea: There is a good chance that Yaris parts might fit, exception the bell housing and the input shaft with its different teeth for mating the clutch plate.
In these parts the almost identical gearbox is found in Daihatsu Sirion, Peugeout 107, Citroen C1, Toyota Aygo, and many others.

I actually did message the 3 sites above. They all 3 have now emailed me as well saying back ordered, no eta.

Foama, you present the thout i was going towards, but wanted to try to cross the mitsu part # with aisin to get their # to then cross reference to see what all they used it in.. there enlies my roadblock. (Unless i can find a random 1 to teardown & try to match up)

I checked them already, out of stock from both their sources. I've purchased from them in the past. Shipping wasn't that bad actually considering it comes out of Dubai.

While you're at it... We also need the part number for a Euro-spec differential with the more friendly highway gears.

Gear ratios for Mirage transmissions : 5-spd manual F5MDB and CVT (speed vs RPM chart)

    North America 5-speed
    1st - 3.545
    2nd - 1.913
    3rd - 1.310
    4th - 0.973
    5th - 0.804
    Reverse - 3.214
    Final drive - 4.055

    Euro-spec 5-speed
    1st - 3.545
    2nd - 1.913
    3rd - 1.310
    4th - 1.027
    5th - 0.850
    Reverse - 3.214
    Final drive - 3.550

i'm still up for suggestions, but the wife had a decent 1. pick n pull by my parents had a 5speed, but the case was cracked (front hit) could just disassemble it there & buy the sync hub itself. i'd still love a contact @ Aisin to see what part # they give this little hub to cross-reference
