    Whistle when driving sometimes

Anyone hear a whistle while driving sometimes? It only seems to happen when it rains, it's like blowing over the opening of a glass bottle. Is it this gigantic antenna?

The antenna does make a bit of noise when raised all the way.
I have made it stop by tipping the antenna back to match the slope of the windshield.
(it's designed to tip up or down, just push up or down with gentle pressure near the base)
P.S. the rain makes the air more dense to drive through and may bow the antenna to a greater degree thus hitting a "noisy angle of attack".
    Will weld for beer.

I think i'll grab one of those stubby antennas from auto zone, thanks for you input. I'm fairly certain it is only while raining, at least, every time I've noticed it, it's been muggy.

I hear it too! Thanks arthurdents. I was meaning to start this thread my self.
To me it seems to be coming from the front undercarriage. Along with the raining situation, I usually notice it when there is a strong head or crosswinds. I theorized it could be from a oddly positioned hole in a stamped steel chassis component. It may be a good justification for belly pans.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how does it come off?...seems like I'd scratch my paint trying to remove it

It unscrews from the base. Just takes a few seconds. No tools needed.

I must have weak hands, I tried for minutes and it wouldn't budge. I figured it just looked like it was supposed to screw off, but didn't.

You can wrap a rag or piece of rubber (inner tube, jar opener, etc.) around the antenna, on the knurled section, and use a pliers or vise grip to hold it as you turn. It is standard thread, so lefty loosey.
