Hi there,

Got into an unfortunate accident today. Guy T-boned me turning left out of an Autozone without looking right. Getting me in a pretty bad spot.....side airbags didn't deploy.....

Cops said he's at fault, so I don't have to worry about the insurance payout. However, looking at the damage, it seems my car will be totaled just because the body work will cost so much. He looked like he genuinely felt bad so please no attacks, it was a risky decision he made exactly why I will never turn left on some streets. Better to go a safer way and then turnaround somewhere.

Ironically, I told my brother last week "my Mirage is almost 10 years old!"

Pretty sure I will get a decent amount of money due to low miles. Not sure what I will buy in the meantime.....

I took off most that I could, so if you are in WA you can get a Rhino rack or any after market parts from me for cheap.

That really sucks, sorry to hear that happened!!! The first few pics didn’t look bad but you’re probably right about it being totalled.

Yeah, it's those last 2 pictures that sealed its fate. It would still be a good vehicle, but would have to have a salvaged title.

Except for the fact that it's a CVT, it would make a helluva fun race car (for real). And even with the CVT, it would be a fun racecar. There are very fun Enduro racing series events that car would compete in. If running well, it could even win. Lots of disadvantages, but those Enduro races are similar to tournament play Texas Hold'em poker. It's not always about the horsepower. Gotta have patience, luck, and be willing to push your luck in a few situations to come out on top.

Sorry to see such a great looking car get taken off the road. I worry about something like that happening to my little Blueberry, and is part of the reason I keep my big Lex in the garage.

That stinks. But on the bright side, this might be good timing as far as pricing goes. You might get 75% of what you originally paid for your car...and new/used car prices seem like they are returning to pre-pandemic levels.

Body shop looked at it for like 10 mins and said A and B pillar are bent and pushed in and its too expensive to fix

Well...not to seem too insensitive...but let us know what insurance offers for it. Since you're relying on the other guy's insurance to pay out, you might want to start doing some research and building a file of comparable 2015 Mirages for sale. There's a chance that the first number they offer you isn't going to cut it. Hopefully I'm wrong, but it doesn't hurt to be prepared.
