    Reviving an old thread.

as i was looking for some retractable side mirror, i came across this module.
So im not sure if this can help in making a DIY retractable side mirror but i dont know what part number is or what to look for, for the mechanism that fits the mirage oem side mirror for the module to work without messing with the Etacs.

That would be super handy if the Mirage mirrors were the same as the Lancer. Have you seen any online parts stores that list the same mirror for both cars?

15+ Lancer mirrors have the same shaped housing and mirror itself as the Mirage. However, the mirrors base is different and the covers themselves mount differently to the base. The covers are not interchangeable between the two. Ask me how I know? I ordered a set of Carbon Fiber look covers for the Lancer, and the tabs and screw mounts wouldn't mount to the Mirage mirror.

So no, not the same structurally, only looks.

I replaced my left side mirror using a replacement from Rock Auto. It bolted to the door just fine but was different from the OEM - parts like the cover wouldn't interchange.

Maybe that's why those covers wouldn't fit?

It's possible. They snapped right into my buddies Evo though.

I have them on my Lexus LS 460L. I have it set to fold in when the doors are locked. That's the only use there is for it. So I can visibly confirm my doors are locked. It is actually useful for that.

If there's some space I'm finding that I may need to fold the mirrors in, I park somewhere else.
