I want to get these for winter on the steelies: https://www.tires-easy.com/155-70-14...recode/T428454

I would use the 15" x 5.5" rims for my primary tires, & I would probably try a 185/55-15 tire. Top Fuel suggests a good LRR tire in that size if interested.

I would also make an effort to clone the extra set of tires to the original set of wheels.

This is the direction I would take over time. For example, you may not want to do anything until next winter. In the meantime, you can be on the look out for a good tire deal & see if anyone will clone tire sensors in your area.
My Mirage has its original 14" steel wheels, with like new 165/65R14 Dunlops on the rear and brand new 165/65R14 Federals on the front. But I'm not going to pull those tires off of the rims when the snow flies next November.

I'm only going to get winter tires, if I have a second set of rims to put them on. Then I can pop them on/off myself if I want to. If these old Scion 15-inch rims won't work well with a suitable size tire, I might just look for a used set of Mirage-compatible 14" steelies to put winter tires on.

I moved the previous nine posts to this thread as the discussion drifted considerably from bolt circle diameter. It's all better suited to this thread.

These tires are an awesome find and a great price, too! 4 Nokian Hakkapeliitta 7 (Non-Studded) 155/70R14 77T BSW Tires for $175.48 plus free shipping. They are 22.5" OTD tires. Factory tires are 22.4" & 22.6". You couldn't get much better than that!

Walmart has the same tire Nokian tire listed @ $109 each.

I have a pair of 165/65-14 Nokian Nordman 7 snow tires from tires-easy.com. I have not been overly impressed by them, but the Nokian Hakkapeliitta 7 tires usually get rave reviews. I've never noticed that size before. Most 155 wide tires are 13", & 13" rims won't work on a 2017+ Mirage.

If someone is in need of skinny snow tires, these seem to be a great find! Thanks for sharing!

If you decide to stick with 14" steel rims, I bought a pair of steel rims for $50 each (free shipping at the time) from

    https://onlywheels.com/wheels/steel-wheel-14

Since these are 14" x 5.5" rims, any 165-185 width tire would work on them. I have a pair of 165/65-14 Nokian Nordman 7 snow tires on them, and I've used them up front the past two winters. These 14" steel rims fit perfectly fine, and the factory hub caps snap into them without issue.

I lost a factory Dunlop @ 15,000 miles (sidewall blow out) last summer. I bought a pair of Federal tires as a result of losing one tire. This past winter, I used the Nokian snow tires up front & my newer Federal SS657 tires on back. I am pleased with the Federal tires, & I had no issue/concern with them this past winter.

I recently pulled the Nokian snow tires off the front, moved my newer Federal tires to the front, and added the factory original Dunlop tires to the back. Thus, I am using a combination of Federal & Dunlop tires like you. When the Dunlop tires get used up, I may try the Vredestein Quatrac 5 tires from tirerack.com. At approximately 22,000 miles, I am still experimenting with tires. 165/65-14 tires limit choices, which may not be bad in this case.

For the money, the Federal tires seem pretty good. The car seems more planted on the road than with the Dunlop tires. I am not overly impressed with the Dunlop tires, & I have never lost a tire to sidewall blow out before. I don't think the Dunlop tires are horrible. I would never pay $100+ for one, however. Even if they were the same price I would pick the Federal tires over the Dunlop tires. Then again, I only have about 7,000 miles on the Federal tires. My overall view could change over time.

You do seem to have a usable set of 15" rims. If you decide to go with 14" steel rims, someone may be interested in your 15" rims. It may help cover the cost of the new steel rims. You shouldn't rule out using the 15" rims either.

Same site has the studded version for only $10 more. I think I will pick up a set as I only expect to get maybe one more season out of my Pirelli snow tires. I have learned to wait until spring to buy winter tires!

Under $75 per tire, I assume? Any particular reason you want to go with the bigger size? I have a set of Federal Super Steel SS657 in the garage right now in the correct 165/65-14 size. They were about $45 per tire (when I bought them), and look nice. People here who have run them say they are just fine.

Tire shops around me dont have any 165 65 r14 except for really expensive Bridgestones or Dunlops. I heard the 175 fit great on a 14" wheel and offers alot more choices for cheaper prices. I read the bigger tire only affects the mph by like a margin on 1mph or 2. Seems like a good idea from previous posts on here?

    When do you need them?

If you need tires now, you can't really be picky.

If you have time, keep looking for the right set to come your way.

In the end, I'm sure you'll mount and wear down the right set of treads, and you'll be in great shape. Maybe I'm underthinking this, but they're just tires. They shouldn't take too much thought.

I'm set for tires. But if I were shopping, I'd be looking toward the Vredesteins.

My new OEM-size tires: Vredestein Quatrac 5

Check out this post for a nice comparison:

    Tire Comparison

Good thing you don't need to worry about snow.
