I need wheels for snow tires!

I've been looking for some VX wheels, I contacted this guy off of craigslist.

    http://frederick.craigslist.org/pts/4832452768.html

He said the lowest he will take is 150 cash for the wheels with the older tires and minor scuffs.

I then found these beauties, the guy said he would take 100 cash, 2 good tires and 2 worn out tires

14x5.5 light weight alloys. The stock tire size is P185-70R14 and I was thinking about going for some P175-65R14s General altimax for the snow. Should I stud them?

I'm on a budget so I might only get two of them and just run the "good all season" tires in the back.

VX or HX? VX = 13 inch.

I wanted vx for the cheaper and narrow tires but the guy won't come down on the price. I figure the civic hybrid wheels will look cool as well.

The HX guy never responded and I kept trying for the VX wheels but the guy still wouldn't budge on the price so I got the hybrid wheels and I am kinda glad I did, they are different and I already like them even though mine are scuffed up, still good winter wheels.

1 tire is bad, 1 tire is so so, 1 tire is good, 1 tire is piratically brand new

They came with 3 center caps, the cheapest on ebay is 7 each, I might try and sell them for 14.00 for all 3 (one slightly damaged) to get some of my 100 bucks back

Since I'm on a pretty tight budget I saved enough to get a few things ordered for the Mirage, this being the most important.

My Mirage did good for 4-5'' of snow driving around but the extreme ice build up stopped it in its tracks going up hill, even the Jeep in 4 wheel spins a bit on the ice. I do love my Jeep for the winter months but its really just a back up vehicle for me now (heavy hauler 6+inches of snow driver) so I rather drive the mirage and save as much on fuel consumption as possible. These winter snow tires should make a big improvement on my civic hybrid wheels, I know I might get some hate for only buying two, but I am going to try and get two more for next year sometime during the summer, for now the good condition tires will be okay for the rear, I will just keep driving slow as always.

I've done lots of stupid things in the past, so who am I to judge?

But seriously: you do understand why only snows on the front of a FWD vehicle is particularly risky, right? Moreso than 2 snows on a RWD vehicle?

Wow, those are cheap compared to what I paid for mine. Tempted to hop across the border and pick up four of them for snow tires. Gaithersburg is only 50 miles north of me.

They are a really good deal, made in Germany too. I already recommend them and they are not even on the mirage yet! Name: image.jpg
