Thank you for the warm welcome. So far I absolutely love the car. I really wanted the VW Golf Launch edition, but between finances and the unpleasant clutch feel in the VW, I decided on the little mirage. With less than 200 miles of driving it I can't say there is anything to dislike about it.

I will try to get a picture up soon. It is as base as a base model can get, so the image you see is actually more entertaining.

After 4 years of ownership I still enjoy the little fuel sipper. I am still running the VW Beetle rear springs with absolutely no regrets.
I have installed a 2-channel amplifier and single channel class d amplifier under the dash to retain the factory undesirable stereo look. It is amazing what a good amplifier can do for the factory speakers. I have a 12" polk audio sub that is definitely too big for the car, but it does fit nicely out of view. I have added sound dampening to limit the rattles to the rear view mirror and in all have spent less than 400$ in modifications to make the car enjoyable to drive for hours.
I have a few more small things planned in the near future, but for now it gets me where I need to be and saves me a ton on fuel.
Also, I do not recommend cooper 60,000 mile rated tires as they can be "entertaining" in the rain.

I have just over 38,000 miles on it now. I am currently out of the country for work, but when i get back I will be sure to post pictures. I made a bracket to secure on amplifier under the factory stereo and I welded a mounting bracket to the bar under the passenger airbag for the sub amp.
And yes, I may have bumped reverse once or twice trying to find sixth gear. Over 70 mph on the turnpike mpg drops to around 34.
