5' 10" here, and I was genuinely surprised how much room there was "behind myself" in the back seat of the Mirage. The seats are also high enough off the floor you can put your feet underneath. I was genuinely comfortable back there, despite the flat as a board look of the rear cushion.

Rear headroom is another issue though. My head was brushing the headliner.

Also 5'10''. I must be awkwardly shaped, but I absolutely cannot fit in 3/4 seats in a Fiesta. I can fit in the passenger front and that's it. Even with the steering wheel adjusted all the way up, I still can't get under it.

I can fit in all 4 seats in a Mirage comfortable ... I can even put the drivers seat all the way back (way more than I would need) and I can still sit in the back seat.

Just to add more to this.

I got a rental cruze and focus recently.

Cruze is similar in interior space as my mirage. Back seats are similar in size.

The focus tho... god that cars terrible. Odd angles everywhere. Back seats are tighter. Front space is more cramped.

Hopping back into the mirage was a breath of fresh air.

Well if you think that's Bad!!! Try getting into a 014 Toyota Avalon Back seat I'm 5,8 and I had to bend my head down like it was made out of rubber to get in the back seat!!! The door opening was way to small!! My mirage has more space to get in with out hitting your head on the door posts then the Toyota !the back seat area was kinda small for the Toyota full size car.

Transporter, I'm with you on the Focus being a bad ride. Some friends of ours bought a new bay house and we rented a focus for the trip, sort of peppy in acceleration but terrible on interior comfort.

Here you can see the position of the front seats for me, my girlfriend, a 5 and a 10-years-old child. All of us fit well enough, not a lot of room, but not uncomfortable.

I have the same set up in my mirage. Even if u move the child seat to the drivers side.the kids will still be more than comfortable.

I have another on the way and due in nov. i should update this thread when my second comes.

I agree on the focus. Love the pep. But hated everything else. Lol

I am 6'3" and my 12 yr old son can sit behind me if he had to but he would be a bit cramped I can comfortably sit behind my 5'6" tall wife so the back seats in the Mirage are not that bad.
