Hellooooo nurse! Looks like we might be able to easily find a matching alternative... might take mine
off once I get the eBay/Amazon springs and hop down to NAPA/Lordco/Fortins to do a quick comparo
to other compact cars shocks. Nice find!

JC Whitney has a bunch of Pro comp ES9000 listed for Mirage,$44/ea with free shipping. When you get the oem lengths you should be able to figure out which one is better fit.

My feeling you should be able to get by with oem front struts. The setup probably will not be ideal but it can't be worth than oem, right?

Did some quick snooping around on the net and found the original Mitsu part numbers for our
front and rear shock absorbers. Turns out they're Tokico and they vary depending on whether you
have 13" or 14" stock tires:

This should help to cross reference to other kinds.

^ That info was found somewhere else - so much as users asked tokico if they were planning on developing 'sport' tuned suspension. At the time, the answer was no.

For sure! We need someone to find us some better rear shocks! They appear to be super easy to swap as well.

I looked around, and it appears as though the biggest problem to finding some other shocks that will work is the length of the shock. They are about 25" long which is several inches longer than a majority of shocks out there.

Maybe someone can fab some mount brackets to reduce the length required?

That is usually very easy if lower bolt is not rusted badly. On the top Mitsu made access doors, so you don't have to take off plastics.

What is the fully extended/compressed length of the shock? I do not feel like taking it off just to measure
