Here in the US the Mirage has no tinting in the rear windows

Well that was pretty easy... I've just removed the halogen lamps and replaced them with my brand new LED's.... I LOVE THEM... No more yellow halogens, just beautiful bright white light... :-)

Took me about 20 minutes... But I will recommend a little WD40 to smear on the dust cover so you can twist the light in the fixture...

    This is the old halogen

    Here are the new headlights....

One less thing... Now to find smoked, black rear tail lights and CANBUS wiring fix... :-)

    Here's what I did....
    1. Remove plug from back of light
    2. Removed dust cover and old halogen globe
    3. Removed surround from new LED and put it in the headlight fixture
    4. Hold in with light clip
    5. Lubed dust cover with a little WD40
    6. Replaced dust cover
    7. Inserted new LED into dust cover hole, push globe deep into dust cover
    8. Turn light and attached fan a quarter turn to connect it into place
    9. Attach wiring and or adapters that come with new lights
    9. Turn on headlights...

That's one thing I really like about the Mirage. General maintenance stuff like bulbs, filters etc is so easy to get to and replace. There are some cars you can't even replace the bulb without dissembling the front grille.

I totally agree Inuvik... Plug and play is the best.....

I have a question and I hope someone could help.... I want to add the Ralliart Push Button Start.... My car is already set up for it.... How will this work? Will I need a new key? If I still have to turn the key its pointless isn't it??

    Here is the ebay listing...

So we have to remove the factory tint, and add darker tint to the front... That's happening next Tuesday... My little black car will be totally black with accents of chrome....

Check out the difference in the tint shade....

Not sure what the reasoning was behind this other than a cost saving measure....
Most likely privacy tint. Look at high end cars like BMWs, Mercs etc. All luxury cars will have it for the rear passenger(like someone special) May have came from the EVO since they also have privacy tint. Be happy, you can't get defected for it being too dark since it came factory. Privacy is usually around 15-20% tint.
Your front windows aren't tinted. And legal is 35% which hardly is tinted at all. I would go around 20% as this is a nice dark, and will match your rear windows.

Look great. Will need some night time photos to show the light colour and output.

They work really well... Couldn't be happier... They're exactly the right colour....

Now, concerning the tint, I'm going to insist they match the factory tint and I'll tell anyone who pulls me over that it was factory.... I am a stay at home mum, so I'm not out hooning around drawing attention to myself.... Here's hoping anyway....I'm not keen on having two different tints happening.... :/

Ok privacy glass sux... It offers no UV protection and it breaks really easily.... Not sure how to handle the privacy glass as its not a tint, its black glass.... They are standard on most Japanese vehicles....apparently.... Now I can only tint to 35%... I hate the fact I'll have two tone tint, but privacy glass only looks good, its not very functional.... This SUX.....

And back to the lighting issue, I've just bought 4 x T10 LED lights for my number plate lights, and my rear cargo light... Saving power where ever I can...

They cost me $10 free postage with a 6 month warranty...

Has anyone replaced their fog lights with LED's? Were they hard to get too? I've looked and I can't find a thread on it anywhere.... In Australia I believe they're H8 globes....
