    Rust on front tire joints?

Is it normal to have rust in your front tire end joints? Cause my month old Mirage is. I really need to know what mitsubishi have to say about this.

If you could show us a picture that would be helpful.

You know these parts will eventually have some surface rust due to bad painting, and it is normal. Remember it is only surface rust and not on the body's structure. these parts will eventually get changed after 6-8 years anyways. I also see rust on other parts pf my car like you do. but again it is not part of the structure, and they will be replaced with time

I wasn't so sure since I crossed reference mine to my friends' mirage. Theirs were far lot better than mine. Considering that my mirage was a month old and my friends' were 2 and 3 years old already.

I think your photo of the joint is opsite down cause when my mirage was new like yours I had same rust same spot. the joint faces upwards right?

Haha. Yup. Those joints are facing upwards. I was not able to change photos orientation. Anyway I'd prolly wash it off with a WD 40 and finish it with paint covering to stop the rust. What you think?

The WD40 will make your paint not stick. The slight surface rust you see will have absolutely no effect on the function or life expectancy of your car.
