Thread: Parts Runner :: 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage DE (Garage entry)

  1. General Information

    2015
    Mitsubishi
    Mirage DE
Plasma Purple even though it's pink
    CVT

I bought this one owner car from a small local dealer for $2200 because it had some issues and they were afraid of it because no local parts store stocks sensors and other bits for these cars. It was horridly disgusting and neglected... what a surprise for a used Mirage.

It's got the rear quarter panel rust on the passenger side... I plan on taking it to the body shop to get that fixed eventually. Various dings, scuffs, etc throughout... first owner was not very nice to it. Added a tow hitch for the cargo basket. Also acquired a used factory accessory roof rack which immediately damaged the clearcoat on the roof rails... I guess the sticker thing that it came with originally was more important than I thought so that's been removed for now until I can find a vinyl decal to cover the spots where the roofrack sits. Also added the rear bumper protector accessory to keep that from looking bad.

Front seats replaced with 2018 GT heated seats with the wiring added in by me to use a factory heated seat switch. Rear seats removed and thrown away because they were nasty and I don't need them. Cargo platform saved from my last Mirage project was added for maximum interior hauling capacity.

Stock radio removed and thrown in the cabinet of despair (I think I have 4 or 5 of these stock Mirage radios now... I need to get rid of them) and it was replaced with the base 7" touch screen audio unit from a 17-20 Mirage ES. Just the easiest way to add Bluetooth connectivity to one of these cars in a factory manner. Once I get a chance I'll nip a plug off of a wrecked one so I can add a backup camera to the factory display.

Stock engine and (somehow) the original CVT. 154,000 miles on it and counting.

Vehicle has had shocks and struts replaced by previous owner. I replaced the rear springs with low mileage 2018 units which are much nicer than the mush trash that came out of the car. Those went in the recycling can where they belong. I would like to add something to help it carry cargo a bit better at some point.

Stock steel wheels with those sweet 14-15 DE plastic wheel covers. I would love to find a cheap set factory of alloy wheels for it eventually.

Any pics of your cargo platform / rear seatless area?
