Is this just a mod because you can or is there some justifiable gain here?

I just want to do it because I will get a little better throttle response especially with my speedlab header and custom hks exhaust. Also this my daily driver and I need to make it some what fun to drive because it suck to go from driving my s13 or 4g64 turbo mirage to my daily mirage lol

Post some pics when you do it, I'm sure there is a lot of interest how it turns out.

Any updates? I have an Injen cold air intake for a 2005 Honda Civic that I bought a few years ago. The Honda Civic intake was the closest to what was on my old Suzuki Reno. I never got around to installing the Injen, but with Daox's MAF housing it might work on the Mirage.

Last night I popped my hood to see if the Civic cold air intake might fit. Unfortunately our engine bay seems way too tight. At least for the diameter of piping. A short ram seems like the only option, but might be louder than I want.

has anyone have any issues with moving the mass air flow sensor (MAF) up/down stream and lengthening/shortening the time the metered air hits the engine cylinders?

i imagine this too be absolute mission critical, but never heard or read anything about it, (example think the "delay" you add into universal fuel controllers when measuring air fuel ratio (AFR) on a wideband depending how far away the sensor is, just the inlet not outlet)

Changing the location of a MAF on any car typically doesn't have any effect on the tune so long as its still in the engine bay. Changing the length of the MAF wire will have more effect on it then the actual location of the MAF. Big things with MAF relocating is making sure you don't introduce too much turbulence before the MAF which in rare cases can throw off the reading slightly.
