I have mentioned this before, I am always curious what the insurance rates is for other people for their Mirages. I know that since I switched to sonet insurance, I pay under $70 a month for my Mirage now. I have pretty minimum coverage because my Mirage's street value isn't worth the deductible practically.
Nissan sedans are more popular in the USA for sure. Canada would probably be 2 of the top 3 trucks? At least that what it feels like at the Timmies drive through.

My Mirage is by far the most expensive car that I insure. I buy my insurance every 6 months, so:
1990 Miata = $106 (liability only)
1999 Miata = $122 (liability only)
2015 Miata = $192 (full coverage with rental coverage)
2015 Mirage = $313 (full coverage, no rental)
That's for 53-year-old me with obviously multi-car discounts, long-time customer discounts, no-claim discounts, etc. My wife does have a 20% "snapshot" discount on her car (the 2015 Miata).
I should probably drop the full coverage on the Mirage since it's paid for and probably only worth about $5k, but that only accounts for $16 (comp) and $38 (collision).
Simplify and add lightness.
I was looking into my insurance policy after I put on the winter tire discount, I guess one's rate can change too when the car is paid off, versus a lien on it still. I hope I can shave off a bit more on my insurance cost in a few months when my Mirage is paid off finally.
You love your Miata's eh!? I always liked them as well, my parents friends bought a yellow one brand new in 1990, sharp then and sharp now I'm sure.

The '90 is temporary. It was one of those "too good to pass up" deals, and my son wants it. So, I bought it, doing some mechanical work on it, then selling it to him.
But, yeah, I've been a Miata fan for years. My '99 is my current toy. The 2015 is my wife's daily driver... but, she's been working from home since March.

Looks like you and I are in basically the same boat except I'm 8 years older. Both my '97 and '02 Escort insurance is about $125-$135 every 6 months for liability and the '16 Versa is about $350. for collision, comprehensive, and liability. I'm probably going to drop the collision/comprehensive on the Versa when the insurance comes due again in April. If the collision/comprehensive were only costing me $108./year as in your case I'd probably keep it on the Versa for another year or two but in my case the majority of the premium is associated with collision/comprehensive. My biggest concern with dropping collision/comprehensive is the possibility of hitting a deer (lots of them in this area) or having a hail storm.
I pay $80 a month with Allstate, including road side service. Not a great price but not bad for just basic liability.
I have what I consider full coverage with some deductibles on my two vehicles.
medical payments per person
uninsured motorists/underinsured motorists both at $250,000/person & 500,000/accident
comprehensive with $250 deductible
collision with $500 deductible
liability (bodily injury $250,000/person & $500,000/accident) (property damage $100,000/accident)
I pay
2011 Subaru Forester = $450/year = approximately $37.50/month
2017 Mitsubishi Mirage = $595/year = approximately 50/month
I should probably add a $1-5 million umbrella policy to all this. I used to have one, & I should do that again. They aren't that expensive, & they will cover legal costs.
Since I bought my Mirage in 2017, 90% of my mileage has been with it. My Forester has less than 10,000 miles on its current replacement engine (compliments of a class action oil consumption lawsuit against Subaru). My Forester is still in very nice shape. Manual transmission & relatively new engine gives me no reason to replace it.
Not having vehicle payments is always a plus!

It could be cheaper but, I really love my 50 dollar deductible. It means when something happens I dont have to debate if I want to use my insurance or not. I always use it.
