How many miles do you get from your brake pads?

I'm just curious as to how far people are getting on a set of front brake pads?

I just changed mine at 50,000 kms.
There was a raw grinding noise whenever I broke hard. Started doing it when I got it back from the dealer for my 45000km service..

All depends on the terrain you're driving your car in. The brake pads are absolutely tiny on these cars. I had to change mine at 43000 kms (26000 miles?) just because we don't have flat areas here in BC. Lots of inclines, downhills (pad killers!) and mountain-ish roads.
