I just has my windows tinted and had this rather impressive stereo installed. It's a Boss Elite series and it's pretty darn good with Android Auto/Apple Carplay and a crisp, clear screen that's bright enough to fight off glare. I also added some wind deflectors but I admit I could have done a better job of installing them.

    1 more week...

I kicked the Mirage to the curb for one more week.

I had been planning to put the crapcan Miata away for the winter and resume driving the Even Fancier Metro this weekend, but we're supposed to get something like a heatwave later this week.

End-of-season top-down weather is the best convertible weather.

Yesterday I put myself a new intake together because I wanted to sound it a bit more "sporty"

I first removed the old airbox:

Then I made a bracket to hold the new intake, and test fitted it

Then I cleaned the engine bay, and paint sprayed the fuel rail with some heat resistant silver paint.

And finally I cleaned some of the hosing, paint sprayed the aluminium tube(also heat resistant) and the clamps that hold the tube in place.

In the end it was definitely worth it, it cost me like 30€ for all the supplies and and hour or 2 to do(most of it cleaning) and it doesn's sound any different when driving normally(which is good since my mom drives it occasionaly). As soon as you get around ~3500rpm it really starts to make noise.
Mileage wise it is actually better at low speeds (4.6L per 100km @80kmh), at high speeds not so much(7.2L per 100km @130kmh).
    If you want to hear:
    driving by
    going up the highway

Doing so removes the air intake resonator aka Helmholtz resonator. Previous discussions have shown this resonator not only attenuates noise but helps the intake "breathe easier".

For more details see the following thread (lots of good info):
Don't buy/build an intake, just remove the resonator/snorkel tube
