I removed the aftermarket hubcaps and putted back the OEM 's just to see if it made any difference to MPG on a 320 mile long road trip at 5th gear, 70 mph with A/C on with cruise control on, 3 passengers with the trunk being 100% full, tyres at 44 PSI and it net me 50.4 MPG vs 0.93 = 46.87.

So I gained 2 extra MPG even at 70 mph that the G4 was already working hard. Fascinating.

So much potential there for more MPG if I made it less light weight lol. I'm gonna leave it the way it is and don't care how ugly it looks.

Just spray paint your wheels gloss black and get some chrome lug nuts. Steel wheels look good this way. You only need to touch it up every few months or so.

You mean you put the OEM wheel covers on? I still have mine, maybe I'll put mine back on. I just made an approximately 1,000 mile run down to near Baton Rouge, LA and back (south side of Atlanta). I tried my best by GPS numbers to put the car on 73.5 mph. I did so because the mpg graphs in the forum suggest that ~73.6 (or so) mph should yield 40 mpg. And I wanted to get at least 40 mpg. I think I got it reasonably close to 73.5. Of course the speed varied ± 1.5 mph but hovered around 73.5 mph very decently. Very little A/C useage, maybe 15%. Just me and a throw bag in the car. After all the math, I got almost 41 mpg. Not nearly as good as yours. I think I was running only 40 psi, and aftermarket wheel covers.

My wheel covers are crap quality. They look(ed) nice, but I lose a couple percent of them every time I go through the car wash! Perhaps I'll stick the OEMs back on some time.

You going 3.5 mph slower, and having a sedan, your car SHOULD do better mpg than mine (and did). I'm a little jelly. However, I wanted to try a hatch, and I'm not complaining. I do like my hatch. However, I haven't had an instance yet where a sedan wouldn't have done something that my hatch did.

Or just go to a pick n pull like I did, get OEM alloys for $50 each and have discount tire mount them. I sold all my steel wheels on EBAY to recover what I paid the salvage yard. I got the 1st gen 7 spoke alloys, nothing fancy but not bad.

Hey buddy. How about the next time I blow through on my way up to my old man's house, which is now my sister's, I stop by in my little Blueberry for say ... 10 minutes and just say, "Hello, and stop using illegal drugs." Wouldn't that be friendly?

"Illegal drugs" meaning Marijuana? It's going to be rescheduled, I'm guessing to level 4, by the DEA/FDA. This is a huge victory against federal prohibition. Next stop, state governments!

"Ohhhhhh the winds of change are blowing!" - some musical, maybe Camelot?
