Changed the oil in mine today. 125k miles / 201k Km on the clock. The Baldwin B1431 oil filter is a tight squeeze due to it's extra length but no issues. Doesn't burn or leak any oil between my 5k miles / 8k Km intervals. Still on the OEM spark plugs, that's next on my list to replace.

I bought new spark plugs a long time ago. I'm sort of holding out to 100,000 miles to do those. I think I will replace the serpentine belt & coolant around the same time. I will keep the old belt as backup. I have a new belt for backup now.

Overall, they are nice cars to work on. The satisfaction of doing things yourself is a big plus, too!

The Mirage makes for a good learner's car, in this and many other ways.

    100%

@Eggman. Do you see yourself getting a Mirage again in the future?

    Good question.

Possibly, maybe for my daughter. Of all the vehicles she drove while learning to Drive, Speck remains her favorite because it was so easy to drive. Even as a 5-speed manual transmission.

After driving an electric vehicle, it's hard to see going back to buying gasoline, dealing with oil changes and worrying about what kind of oil to choose, or rattling exhaust & emissions components.

Driving an EV is so simple and straightforward I really can't see going back to gas (especially after taking a couple of long-distance trips.) Not at this point anyway, who knows what the future will bring.

I had wanted to install the OEM center console/armrest so I partially removed the center console, just to see if it can be done with little compromise to the useless skinny side armrest attached to the driver seat. So I started doing so by removing the grommets, bolts, console panel, console tray. Unfortunately the fun ended when I couldn’t figure out how to remove/take the white harness(I think that what it called? See red circle on last pic).

Must be only for push-button start cars with the proximity keys? Every Mirage I've taken apart has keyless entry and doesn't have that part. I assume the 2023 gt would.

For removing that, I'd leave the sensor in place if you can. Unplug it and unclip the harness from the console using a door panel tool or slide a 10mm box end wrench under the clip(at the connector) to release it. Unplug it at some point.

Make sense there. Mine is equipped with the FAST proximity key+push start button. I’ll leave the antenna alone then.

From my observation so far, installing the OEM center console armrest MZ330444 can be done. Just little extra steps, like you said from above.

You might want to be careful disconnecting connectors. I've read that the battery should be disconnected before airbag connectors are disconnected. I don't know if leaving the battery connected and disconnecting airbag connectors would set off an airbag, but I wouldn't chance it. Just make sure you're not messing with airbag connectors ... unless you do have the battery disconnected.
